Louis-Philippe (Phil) Parent has been involved in the marching percussion arena since his youth. He started his drum corps career in the 90’s marching with the 3rd Regiment drum and bugle corps. He then joined The Cadets, marching the 1998, 1999, and 2000 season. The Cadets earned 1st place in Drum Corps Internationals World Championships in 1998 and 2000. Since 2000, Phil has been playing and teaching percussion with the Syracuse Brigadiers, SPYE indoor percussion, Kingston Grenadiers, Hawthorne Caballeros, Les Stentors, University of Montreal drumline and several high schools in Michigan and New York, just to name a few. He is currently teaching high school drumlines in the province of Quebec located in Canada.

Phil is part of the Vic Firth educational team. He earned a degree in aerospace structural fabricaton and another in cabinetmaking. He has been working for Bombardier Aerospace since 2009 and is the proud owner of Life Performance Athletic, a runners’ apparel business he started in 2023. In his spare time, Phil loves to train, run, hike mountains, play sports and learn new skills.
